Rebecca Moyes, M. Ed. AVID's training consultant, Rebecca Moyes, is a former teacher in public and private schools for seven years. She has authored three books. Her first two books: "Incorporating Social Goals in the Classroom -- A Guide for Teachers and Parents of Children with Autism/Asperger's Syndrome" and "Addressing Challenging Behaviors of Children with Autism/Asperger's Syndrome in the Classroom" (for the same student population) are published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers and distributed by Amazon.com. These books provide practical and easy-to-implement strategies to help children to be successfully included in regular education classrooms. The books contain lesson plans, social stories, and visual aides that can be photocopied and put right to use. Rebecca's third book, "I Need Help with School," is published by Future Horizons and was written to guide parents through the special education process so they can become knowledgeable and productive team members in helping to design their child's educational program. Rebecca holds a master's degree in teaching and curriculum development, an autism certificate from Penn State University, and has completed coursework in applied behavior analysis. She travels internationally and has been contracted locally and nationally to provide teacher in-service trainings and to conduct school-based consultations for particular students who have behavioral challenges.
